How Aam Aadmi Party is different?
We would like to share a few instances that happened in the past few days to reflect what kind of change AAP is bringing on the ground.
1) It was late night and we were standing on the road discussing plans for the next day. A group of people was waiting for an Auto nearby. Soon an Auto came to the spot and the people started talking to the Auto driver. We could not hear the exact words exchanged between the driver and the passenger but in no time, and despite the lateness of the night, the auto driver switched on the meter and left for the destination. As it is a common sight these days in Delhi, we saw yet another poster of Aam Aadmi Party on the back of an Auto.
2) A few days back we were wrapping up after the Jansabha of Dr. Kumar Vishwas. It was almost 10 pm and a group of laborers (4 of them) approached me seeing that I was carrying the donations collected during the Jansabha and politely requested some money for food. I told them, “Brother we have closed these donations after proper accounting”. I then took out a hundred Rupee note from my pocket and handed it over to them saying, "I know this is not sufficient to buy food for all of you but I have only hundred rupees with me". The laborers replied, "Brother do not worry, we know your political party is different than other parties. We have seen for the first time in our life that people come to attend a meeting of political party without any lure of food or freebies and moreover they donate while leaving. Everything is opposite here"
3) A group of AAP members went to Chandani Chowk to buy a microphone. When the shop owner came to know that we were from Aam Aadmi Party and we needed mikes for party work, he took back all the mikes he handed over to us earlier and took out another mike saying that this the best one I have. He said " You should take this one for the campaign and moreover your money is the money of honesty and integrity".
All these reminiscence have been shared mainly to show that honesty is still left in India. Many time such people (Auto driver, labourer, shop owner) are commonly termed as greedy or ill-mannered but these instances show that a common man thinks of being honest and truthful just by hearing the name of Aam Aadmi Party. In many ways it shows that we are not bad by choice, but the system has compelled us to behave in a certain manner.
If system changes, the society will change by itself.
