AAP's Yogendra Yadav to contest from Haryana

NEW DELHI: Yogendra Yadav, senior leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, seen as the philosopher and guide of AAP, will take the electoral plunge by contesting polls from Haryana. In an exclusive chat on his way to Karnal last Saturday, Yadav told ET, "Yes, I would like to contest elections from Haryana. I know that I cannot recommend elections to everyone in the world but say I do not want to contest."

Yadav and his party have not yet decided whether he would contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls or the state assembly elections due later this year. "The dilemma at this point is whether I should contest Lok Sabha polls, as this may impact the national preparations for AAP. Unlike the big parties, we have to be our own managers and I cannot behave like a candidate who is contesting for the fourth time," Yadav said.
AAP hopes to have its next success in Haryana, as the organisation is strong in the state and its cadre played a key role in the state elections in Delhi. Moreover, Yadav believes that the graft factor in the state might even force people to vote above caste lines as the stakes are much higher
