Bangalore: Former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa will on Thursday formally merge his party, the Karnataka Janata Paksha, with the Bharatiya Janata Party. This decision to merge comes ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha polls in an effort to consolidate anti-Congress sentiments in Karnataka.
Yeddyurappa had earlier voiced his support towards Narendra Modi becoming the prime minister and said the merge could strengthen the BJP. Yeddyurappa had left the BJP in 2013 after he was removed as the Karnataka Chief Minister.
